October 31, 2009 - Halloween Day Hike in Peterson Creek

Did a familiar hike through familiar territory. What made it nice was finally there was some sun after a week of some very dismal weather. It was also warm(ish) and we headed out with Lucy "pack leader extrodinaire". She does have a habit of wanting to go off trail, usually down a vertical embankment. She also gets quite worried if I go off without her. When I pulled out a bar to eat at the halfway point, she jumped up in glee almost knocking me over in the process. I made a mental note to bring some kibble with us next time. Like her human friends, walking makes her hungry.

If you look closesly you can see a tree growing sidways out of a rock on the other side.

The sun makes for some interesting shadows on the hills.

Pretty colours.

I did actually scale up beside this waterfall. It's alot steaper than it looks. No really, it is.

Nice sunny day when we started out. It did cloud over but I am happy to report the sun is out once again.

Part of the path we follow. Most places you don't want to go over the edge.

Kind of neat fluffy bushes. I think they are Sagebrush.

Took the picture of the tree to show how windy it was. But you can't really tell.

Looks like the earth has fallen away.
A view of the Thompson River winding its way through town.
