Today I had planned to try to do a longer bike ride, but when I got an email about going for a run I decided to do both, but make the bike ride shorter. I had expected the run to be in an area that was predominently flat, but no, let's try to run the new kid on the block into the ground. Actually everyone was very nice and yes, it was my fault to try to keep up with the faster kids, which I am sure I could have done if those damn hills hadn't gotten in the way. And yes, I should have turned around before we climbed over the gate and went ever further and higher. Needless to say when I arrived home I was much less cocky than I was when I started out that morning and completely whacked out. Let me see....the last time I ran was what...May? Throw in a few hills and you have one tired would-be runner. Out of some strange sense of duty, I decided to go for a bike ride after lunch, and after the dog walk, and yes more of those damn hills. I guess I am trying to explain the low mileage, but hey, I enjoyed it eventually. I rode up lots of hills a few times over because I didn't want to go through a section of town where they were cutting down this giant tree and had some of the road down to one lane. I turned around and re-did an area I had covered before deeking into some side-streets just to see what was going on down there. One had an elementary school on it and I realized it was going to get pretty busy once they released them . As there is more than one school in the area I figured I better head on home. Now I turned down a sidestreet because I had a text message and after I replied I checked out the area and I did pick up a flyer at a house that was for sale. Lovely, quiet street that backed onto Peterson Park. Yes I know it was over 600,000 dollars but some day I will be rich, right? Anyway my sunny day turned cloudy and I was feeling the cold after sweating up those damn hills. I took a few pictures, also out of a sense of duty, including one of a bush thing on the front lawn of the house we are renting. I like the colour. I am hoping to get I can still walk once I get up from posting this. Oh yeah and the dog needs another walk....more hills. Wish me luck.
In case it's not clear, the mileage is 16.727. There, I said it.
The day kind of clouded over and it's not the greatest shot, but it's really the only one I took.
Love the colour.
